田中 康弘 (Written by) Yamato Keiyasha (Publishing House) 2017年1月19日 (Release date) Kindle version (Format) ベストセラーだという「山怪 山人が語る不思議な話」の続編。 今回は東北から甲信、北陸、近畿（奈良県）、中国、四国地方まで新たに取材を敢行し、山里の興味深い体験談を拾い集めたみたい。 僕が印象的だったのは「秋山郷の謎の火」、「森の大笑い」、「山の中で聞こえる音は」、「幻の巨大石塔」、「天に昇る煙」、「ヤマミサキ」などかな。 「山の中で聞こえる音は」で語られた、空を覆った雲に轟音が反射して跳ね返るという話はほおと思った。 The rest、火の玉やリングワンデリングという現象は日本各地の山であるようだ。 火の玉は、リンが出て燃えているのが原因だという話を聞いたことがある。 それとも本当に狐が化かしているのかなぁ？ そういえば、杣人（そまびと）という言葉を今回初めて知ったな。 木に関する不思議な話も多いみたい。

貫井 徳郎 (Written by) Kadokawa Shoten(Kadokawa Group Publishing) (Publishing House) / 角川文庫 2011年3月25日 (Release date) Bunko (Format) 「結婚」をテーマにした8つのミステリ短編集。 けっこう読みやすい。 僕的には「怯える」という作品がハッピーエンドでよかった。 すべてが悲しい誤解だったのだよ。 巻末には著者の自註解説が載っていた。 それによると、「憑かれる」という短編はわずか2日で書き上げられたのだという。 そんな短時間で作品を書けるものなんだなあ。
今邑 彩 (Written by) Shueisha (Japan) (Publishing House) / 集英社文庫 2002年9月1日 (Release date) Bunko (Format) 12篇のホラー短編が収められた本。 どの短編もラストで驚かされるところがあったりして、Interesting。 僕が特に印象に残った物語は、「穴二つ」、表題の「よもつひらさか」などかな。 「穴二つ」はネットストーカーの話で、昔のパソコン通信をいち早く作品の小道具に取り入れたのだろうなぁ。 「よもつひらさか」は日本神話の黄泉比良坂をもとにした話だ。 黄泉戸喫（よもつへぐい）という言い伝えは僕も知っていた。 黄泉の国の食べ物（黄泉の国の火で作った食べ物）を口にすると、現世に戻れなくなるというものだ。 初代SIRENで言われていたのを覚えている。 僕も気をつけようっと（杞憂もいいところ）
トマス・ハリス (Written by) / 加賀山 卓朗 (Translation) Hayakawa Shobo (Publishing House) / ハヤカワ文庫NV 2015年11月6日 (Release date) Bunko (Format) 有名なサイコサスペンス小説。 この3部作は僕も昔読んだし、映画も見た。 かなり怖いけどな。 最近また読みたくなってこの新訳版を買った。 本書は3部作の中では一番最初の物語だ。 映画のキャッチコピーは「《悪の根源》を知る為には その原点に戻らねばならない」だったはず。 本書ではウィリアム・ブレイクの水彩画「巨大な赤い龍と太陽の衣をまとった女」が重要な役割を果たしている。 レッド・ドラゴンとはこの絵に描かれている竜のことで、キリスト教のヨハネの黙示録に記される黙示録の獣のことみたい。 確か小説版と映画版ではラストがちょっと異なるんだっけか。 小説版のラストでは主人公ウィル・グレアムが悲惨なことになる… しかし犯人逮捕のためがんばったグレアムは英雄だな。 彼はこの捜査に携わることに決めたという自身の最初の選択を後悔しているだろうか？ 悔やんではいないだろうと僕は思っていた。 Simply、僕はよく覚えていなかったのだが、話によるとグレアムは事件解決後酔っぱらいになってしまったらしい。 あらら。 モリーとウィリーとは別れたのかな。 やっぱり怪我をして一人ぼっちは辛かったのか… グレアムにはぜひともFBIに復帰してもらって、また事件をどんどん解決してもらいたいなと思った。
田中 康弘 (Written by) Yamato Keiyasha (Publishing House) 2015年6月6日 (Release date) Kindle version (Format) 著者が山での不思議な出来事の体験談を集めた本。 阿仁マタギの語る話などが書かれている。 本書は怪談というよりは民話に近いのかもしれない。 狐に化かされたという話が多かった気がする。 というのも、不思議なことをなんでもかんでも狐のせいにしたということらしいが。 狸は音をまねするくらいで、あまり化かさないみたいだな。 The rest、3章の「タマシイとの邂逅」はけっこう怖かった。 Also、まえがきに書かれていたが、除雪という作業が昔はなかったという話には驚いた。 玄関先や窓だけ雪を退け、必要な道を皆で踏み固めるだけだったという。 自動車を使うようになったことで、道路や家のまわりの除雪をしなければならなくなったらしい。 昔は雪かきという作業は一切なく、ただひたすら春になるのを待つだけだったみたい。 屋根の雪下ろしとかはどうしてたんだろうか？ そんなにひんぱんにはやらなかったのかな。 At last、あとがきに書かれている著者の考えが印象的だ。 ホラー映画のように、これでもかとけたたましく人を怖がらせる何かは、山に存在しない。 むしろ逆で、しみじみと、そしてじわじわと恐怖心は湧き起こる。 （おわりに、電子書籍のためページ数不明） たしかにこの本を読んだ印象とピッタリだと感じた。 それぞれのエピソードは幽霊がばあっと驚かすような怖いものでなく、自分の知り合いから不思議な話を聞いているような感覚で読み進めることができた。 山の不思議な話を語り継ぐ人は近年減っているようだ。 寂しさを感じるなぁ。 山での恐怖心を感じるか感じないかは個人の感性によるという。 何も感じない人もいるかもしれないが、著者も言うように、やっぱり山には人を畏怖させる何かがあるのだろうと僕は思った。
