Hideyuki Takano (Written by) Shueisha (Japan) (Publishing House) / 集英社文庫 2007年3月25日 (Release date) Kindle version (Format) 1995年に、ミャンマー北部、反政府ゲリラの支配区・ワ州で7ヶ月暮らしたという著者のルポルタージュ。 そこはゴールデン・トライアングルと呼ばれるアヘンの麻薬地帯だという。 著者は小さな村に暮らし、ケシ栽培に従事する。 この著者の本にはどこかコミカルな印象を持っていた僕だが、本書は真面目な内容だった。 （まぁ、後半部分で著者がアヘン中毒になりかけていたりしたが…） 「招き猫」敬礼をする村人たちとの別れの場面にはウルっとくるものがあった。 文庫版あとがきで、著者はこの本が自分の「背骨」と呼ぶべき仕事であると言う。 Also、あとがきでは調査・取材、執筆は7年に及んだと書かれていた。 すごいものだ。 著者がお世話になった方で鬼籍に入られた方たちもいるという。 高野氏自身もマラリアに罹ったり、命の危険を感じる場面に何度も遭遇する。 あらためて、本書の重みを感じられる。 本書を読んで、アジアに住んではいるが、僕はアジアのことを全然知らないなと思った。 各国には様々な歴史的背景があり、現在も複雑な事情を抱えているのだなぁ。

Hideyuki Takano (Written by) Shueisha (Japan) (Publishing House) / 集英社文庫 2014年4月18日 (Release date) Bunko (Format) ノンフィクション作家である著者の作品集。 僕はこの著者の本を初めて読んだのだが、Interesting。 他の本も読んでみようかな。 大学の探検部に所属していた人で海外に詳しいみたいだ。 サハラ砂漠でマラソンをしたり、インドで謎のペルシア商人に出会ったりと普通の人が体験しないようなことをしている。 すごいものだ。 後ろのほうに収録されているアジア・アフリカ奇譚集ではホラーっぽい体験談も書かれていた。 やっぱり人間はいろいろな経験をしないといけないな。 これだけ変わった体験をすれば、それだけで本になるのか。 僕も海外に行きたい願望はあるのだが、なにぶんチキンなのでねぇ… まずは国内旅行からがんばってみるか。
