怖い絵シリーズの第2弾。
今回僕が印象的だったのは次の作品かな。
- レーピン-皇女ソフィア
- セガンティーニ-悪しき母たち
- アンソール-仮面にかこまれた自画像
- ホガース-ジン横丁
- ゴヤ-マドリッド、一八〇八年五月三日
アンソールの「仮面にかこまれた自画像」はどこかで目にしたことがあると思ったが、とある文庫本の表紙だったのだな。
ホガースの作品は別の作品「ビール街」と対になっているという。
作者が得意とした風刺的な物語画らしく、怖いがちょっと面白い。
ゴヤの絵も緊張感があって迫力がある…
これが傑作なのだなぁ。

- Scary pictures 中野 京子 (Written by) Kadokawa Shoten (Publishing House) / 角川文庫 2013年7月25日 (Release date) Bunko (Format) 恐怖をテーマにしてベストセラーになった怖い絵シリーズ。 これまで恐怖とは無縁と思われていた作品が、思いもよらない怖さを忍ばせているという驚きと知的興奮を伝えている。 昨年は「怖い絵展」という展覧会も開かれたらしい。 本書で僕が怖いと思ったのは以下の作品などかな。 ラ・トゥール-「いかさま師」 ゴヤ-「我が子を喰らうサトゥルヌス」 ベーコン-「ベラスケスによる習作」 ルドン-「キュクロプス」 グリューネヴァルト-「イーゼンハイムの祭壇画」 ゴヤ、Bacon、ルドンの作品は、作品の背景を知らなくても一目見ただけで怖さ、不気味さが感じられた。 Also、著者の解説を読んでさらによく作品について知ることができた。 Other hand、ラ・トゥールとグリューネヴァルトの作品は、一見したところ僕はそんなに怖いとは思わなかったが（後者はけっこう恐ろしいけども）、説明を読んだら怖くなってきた。 特にグリューネヴァルト作「イーゼンハイムの祭壇画」は、聖アントニウス病という観点から見ると凄味が増すのだな…
