UFOと宇宙人についての神話をポストモダンのアメリカ社会=現代社会という視点から読み解いた本。
僕はこの本けっこう好きなのです。
大澤真幸氏の著作やいろいろな思想家の考えなどが出てくる。
ボードリヤールという人のシミュラークル、ハイパーリアルの考えとか。
大文字の他者、小文字の他者、他者の他者の話とか。
本書を読んで、UFO、エイリアン神話はポストモダンな社会状況から読み解けるのかなと思った。
僕はX-ファイルファンでエイリアン神話に関心はあり、テレビの宇宙人番組も見たりしていた。
今となってはこの神話を信じていないが、マジェスティック12とかダルシーの大虐殺とかよく考えるよなぁ。
偽造文書や偽造フィルムの複雑な相互参照により、ハイパーリアルなシミュレーション空間ができあがったということみたいだ。
1995年以降のポストUFO神話とされるものには僕はおもしろさを感じない。
このいわゆる不可能性の時代、動物の時代、現実の時代には、筆者によると、複数の現実が存在しその中の一つに神話の核があるのではという。
そして神話の核にあるものは現実であるらしい。
いろんなむずかしい思想があるものだ。
これからの時代はどのような新しい神話が生まれてくるのかね～

- Chain smoking Kotaro Sawaki (Written by) Shinchosha (Publishing House) / 新潮文庫 1996年3月28日 (Release date) Bunko (Format) 15編が収録されたエッセイ集。 著者の知り合いの多さ、読書家である様子が伝わってくる。 僕が特に興味をひかれたのは「君だけがしっている」と「赤や緑や青や黄や」かな。 前者では献辞についての話が書かれていた。 献辞とは本の冒頭によく書かれている「誰々へこの本を捧げる」というやつだ。 そこにはパターンがあるのではと著者はいう。 著者の分析は面白い。 後者は公衆電話の話。 今の時代は公衆電話を見つけるのが大変そうだ。 本書を読んで、著者が結婚していて子供もいるということを知り驚いた。 独身なのではないかというイメージを勝手に持っていたので。 The rest、小島武さんの挿絵が僕は気に入った。 特にP.19とP.69、P.255の絵かな。 これらは鉛筆で描かれたものなのだろうか、表紙の装画もいいな～
- 怪談現場 東京23区 吉田 悠軌 (Written by) イカロス出版 (Publishing House) / イカロスのこわい本 2016年6月17日 (Release date) Hardcover (Format) 東京23区それぞれの怪談を集めた本。 著者が言うには怪異と「水の記憶」には関係があるらしく、東京の水について注目しながら怪談現場や歴史資料を探っていったという。 江戸時代とか昭和のいろいろな事件が載っていたりして、僕は知らないことが多かった。 本書を読んで、東京はなんとなく怖いなと思った。 江戸から続く歴史の重みを感じるし、人が多くてそれだけ事件が多いからな。 怪談にリアリティを感じる。 Well、僕のただの食わず嫌いで住めば都なのかもしれないが。 東京で人に優しくしてもらったり、楽しかった思い出もいろいろあるからなぁ。 この間読んだ本によると、怪談の多くは幻覚、幻聴で説明できるという。 そう言われると不安も和らぐ。 現代科学はすばらしいものだ。
