心理学を専門とする大学教授の著者の本。
人を動かすのは報酬、お金、インセンティブであるというアダム・スミス的な仕事観を否定する。
そのようなイデオロギーを超えた、人間の本質を考えた仕事の在り方をデザインする必要があるということみたい。
仕事を「義務」と考えるか、「実績」と考えるか、「使命」と考えるかで大きな違いがあるという。
使命として捉える人は、仕事に主体的に関わり大きな満足を得るらしい。
どんな仕事でも、仕事に意味や目的、重要性を与えて満足を覚えることはできるのだなぁ。
ルーティン化された無意味な労働、物質的インセンティブに頼る仕事はよくないのだ。
僕も自分が情熱をもって夢中になれる楽しい仕事を見つけたい。
