作者は本書を書き上げたのち、39歳くらいで亡くなったらしい。
僕は何気に本書を初めて読んだ。
こういうストーリーだったとは知らなかった。
主人公の人生はなんとも悲しい。
主人公は自身を社会ののけ者と考える。
「昔、僕もそんなことを考えていたなぁ」と思いながら僕は本書を読んでいった。
それがとうとうヨシ子と幸せな生活を送るのかと思ったら、悲劇が待っていたのだものな。
主人公は言う。
自分にとって、「世の中」は、やはり底知れず、おそろしいところでした。

僕は願わくば平穏な人生を送りたいものだ。
そして酒や女性に溺れるのはやはり良くないな。
However,、ラストでの主人公の年齢がまだ27歳とは驚いた。
もう主人公はかなりの歳だろうと僕は思っていました。
退廃的な生活を送り、生き急いで日々を過ごしたのだな。
