• Late-night Express 3 India and Nepal Kotaro Sawaki (Written by) Shinchosha (Publishing House) / 新潮文庫 1994年3月31日 (Release date) Kindle version (Format) 第3巻はインド、ネパール編だ。 カルカッタ、ブッダガヤ、カトマンズ、ベナレス、カジュラホ、デリーと筆者の旅が続く。 著者的に、インドのカルカッタはこれまで訪れた町と違う独特の雰囲気があったようだ。 ネパールのカトマンズはヒッピーたちが多く集まって来る町らしい。 ベナレスではガンジス河で死を見つめた著者。 In the middle of that.、ベナレスを出発して著者は病気にかかってしまった。 異国の地で体調を崩すと不安になるだろうな。 深い眠りに落ちていった著者はどうなるのか？ 容態が気になるところで本巻は終わったのであった。 僕が印象的だったのはヒッピーの雑談に対する著者の感想だ。 一方が食事をおごってもらったと言うと、一方は釣り銭をごまかされたと言う。たったそれだけのことでその国と人を決めつけてしまうのです。 （第八章、電子書籍のためページ数不明） 前巻の第2巻を読んだ時も思ったが、人は自分の体験を信じすぎてしまうということだろう。 少しだけの体験から導かれた信念は危険だなぁ。 ちょっと旅行しただけでその国の全てが分かるわけではないし… 私たちの認知機能は誤りを起こしやすいので気をつけないといけないと思った。 The rest、海外の旅行者の方を見かけたら僕も親切にしようと最近よく思う。 東京オリンピックもあるし。 まずは語学力が必要か。
